November & December Charity Partner – Wombat’s Wish

Market Square is excited to announce Wombat Wish as their charity partner for November and December.

Wombat’s Wish is Victoria’s only specialised charity service for children who have gone through the death of their Mum or Dad.  Wombat’s Wish was founded in Geelong in 2005, by a local Mum and Psychologist.   Being based in Drysdale, outreach extends across all of Victoria.

Providing support through:

  • Therapeutic Weekend Family Camp Programs for children and their surviving parent, to restore hope, access help and understanding, and build resilience
  • Family Day Program for bereaved families to connect, and for grieving kids to make friends and feel less lonely on their journey
  • Online support lounges, for help navigating bereavement
  • 1-1 and Group Grief Counselling

Being lucky to call local sporting superstars Tom Hawkins (Geelong Cats), Emily Mannix (Melbourne Vixens) and Travis Boak (Port Adelaide) their fabulous Wombat’s Wish Ambassadors and Brian Cook, CEO of Carlton and former CEO of Geelong Cats and West Coast Eagles, their Patron.

Wombat’s Wish invites our community to contribute to this vital work changing lives for the better, knowing that 100% of their donation goes directly to supporting local children & young people in our region who are grieving the loss of their Mum or Dad.
